Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Delhi to Shimla (344.2 /approx. 8 to 9 hours)

Pick up from Delhi. In the morning start your drive to Shimla. The capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla is often referred to as “Queen of Hills”. It was the capital of Punjab till Indian independence in 1947. Shimla, situated at 2200 meters above sea-level, was used by the British as the capital during summers. It boasts of many structures with a colonial look and feels. It is frequented by tourists all round the year that come to enjoy its serpentine roads, majestic snow capped peaks and thick forest cover. It remains a favorite of honeymooners as well. Upon reaching Shimla, check-in to your designated hotel and enjoy the remaining evening at leisure. Then, there are plenty of interesting places that you can visit such as Kali Bari Temple and Himachal Museum and Library. The Mall road itself is a great escapade destination for shopping and for eating too. Next, return to your hotel for a good night’s sleep.

Day 2 : Shimla sightseeing

You can now choose a Shimla whole day sightseeing tour. Kufri and Naldhera The most popular destination which lies some 17 km from Shimla city is a paradise for tourists. As there are various things to see as well as to do, Kufri is the place for all the tourist activities of this hill station. You can reach here by road and park your vehicles in the parking lot below the hillock.

For those interested in visiting the topmost level of Kufri hill, you can only arrive there either on horseback or by walking. You will find that the narrow rugged road is quite unsheathing to walk up and will exhaust you completely. Lined with rocks and uneven terrain, climbing right to the top of the hill is quite steep and not worth climbing on foot.

Hit the Mall Road in the evening where you can enjoy its bustling activity and many roadside shops. The Mall road of Shimla is a place buzzing with eateries and lots of shopping. It’s the heart of the hill station, with several local shops and local bakeries that have been around for decades.

A huge standing statue of Lord Hanuman, its chief deity, exists in Jakhoo Hill or Temple. Surrounded by innumerable monkeys, the Jakhoo temple is a quiet place to simply sit down and offer your obeisance to the lord.

To make travel easier, you can also take the Ropeway which starts from one end of the Ridge up to 8000 Ft. Jakhoo hill and back. If you miss it, you will have to travel all the way back on foot. You can visit the Tudor library, Scandal point on the west or Christ Church while at the Ridge. Thereafter, return to the hotel and get a good night’s sleep
